Students learn mathematics by DOING mathematics and not by merely watching someone else do. There has been an explosion in the number of high quality resources available in the net and elsewhere that allow students
to explore the topics th ey are learning in their math class. It is hoped that this blog site will become a one-stop shop for quality resources for mathematics education specifically on quadratic functions.
As a teacher for six years now, I have already a lot of negative experiences in teaching mathematics. Students getting low scores during quizzes, students sleeping during class hours , obtaining very low results on achievement tests, periodical tests and other related situations. Though there are really those students who excel in the subject, majority of the classes are not. These results are indeed a wake-up call for me to at least find another strategy or method at that to create resources that might give my students interest during our class periods.
This blog site would also be very important to interact with my students especially during seminars or camp like this by posting the planned lesson for that day in this site for their reference. In that way, they are not only enriching their knowledge on the subject matter but also they could refresh their hands-on experience in the world of computer age. They will learn the lessons by themselves anytime and they can go over the lesson if they wish to. They can also give their comments whether they understood or not. They could share their ideas, too.
